I do as well. It was pretty fun going back through all the old posts and responses. We covered a lot of theological ground in 2004.

::crickets::
So if anyone has any questions they’d like to ask, I guess this is the time.
Anyone?
I honestly don’t even have time now, since starting my new job. I hardly have time to eat these days. But maybe sometime in the near future. We’ll see.

abs: situps or crunches?
January 18, 2006 at 1:06 pm
Oh crunches. Definitely.
Situps are to the fitness profession what leeches are to the medical profession. Sooo 18th century.
Any other pressing questions that I can answer definitively in less than a minute?

wow. this could be the site that replaces Wikipedia.
ok.
brainfeeze. myth or scourge?
I say myth. I’ve never experienced it in my life and several (one) intelligent and respected friends (friend) of mine never has either.

Brainfreezes are definetely for real. I guess smart people just don’t get them.

The Superbowl is coming up and while there may be no theological ramifications, Kyle’s (and the beautiful Beth Kintner’s) Seattle Seahawks are playing in the game. This is due in large part to having the second best running back in football, a very good and very bald quarterback, and an offensive line that redifines stout in all the right areas if you know what I’m talking about.
The Seahawks do have a better offense (with the exception that I can’t decide who is stronger at the quarterback position) but the Steelers do appear to be superior on the defensive side of the ball. And football wisdom literature does tell us that offense wins games but defense wins championships.
While all of us don’t possess the confidence of West Hollywood 24 hour fitness head-turner Arnold Santos (star underwear model turned accountant), I think that I can be pretty confident in saying that this game will be close and might come down to one lucky play or one key turnover.
So bringing this back to perhaps a theological conversation, if Pittsburgh wins the game at a key moment due to one key turnover or an interception off of a deflected pass, does this mean that:
A) God predestined Pittsburgh to win the game; B) God likes Pittsburgh better than Seattle (one could make this argument due to the high rain and suicide count) and therefore intervened at a key moment to assist the team He was rooting for even though the players performed out of their free will ordained by God since the beginning of creation; or C) That the players played the game freely, unabated by God, but that ‘ol baldy just made another key playoff mistake and that the Seahawks got beat by a better defense?
This is the question that I pose to you and your viewers Mr. Dresback. By the way, if you ever see him, I wouldn’t suggest referring to Mr. Hasselback as “ol baldy” to his face. Might not be a good move if God is with him (see 2 Kings 2:23-24).

brainfreeze in the literal sense may be a myth, but my head sure hurts when I drink a slurpy too fast. Also, kyle, i now understand how hard you need to work out to throw up.. and i think sit-ups and crunches and everything else are the way to go.
